We want you to join us in the third cohort of

Equity Works Leadership Institute for Workforce



The Future Services Institute and the Public and Nonprofit Leadership Center at the University of Minnesota’s Humphrey School of Public Affairs, present a leadership program that will build adaptive leadership competencies to lead inclusively and equitably in the field of workforce development.

Program Outcomes

  • Equip individual leaders with the skills and knowledge to adapt diversity policies into inclusive and equitable practice.
  • Examine social identities (power, privilege, bias), systemic discrimination (historical inequities) and institutional policies (HR practices, organizational culture, and program outcomes) that uphold racial inequities.
  • Develop a plan to address policies and practice that inhibit equitable outcomes within institutions, and the system as a whole.
  • Build the courage to lead inclusive and equitable systems change in the field of workforce development.
  • Foster peer learning and collaboration across program participants.

The process of actively making change within institutions and systems must take into account the unique attributes of the leader, the complexity of the system and the culture of the organization. This program is designed for anyone working in the field of workforce development and can commit to being an ambassador for equity and systems change in Minnesota’s Workforce Development sector.
